A bill to amend the TRAI Act was passed by the Parliament thereby facilitating the appointment of its former Chairman Nripendra Misra as the principal secretary to PM Narendra Modi.The bill was passed amid strong opposition by the Congress and the Left Parties. Note : The TRAI (Telecom Regulatory Authority of India ) prohibited the regulatory authority�s chairman and members from taking up any job at the centre or state after demitting office. The entry of private service providers brought with it the inevitable need for independent regulation. The Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) was, thus, established with effect from 20 February 1997 by an Act of Parliament, called the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India Act, 1997, to regulate telecom services, including fixation/revision of tariffs for telecom services which were earlier vested in the Central Government. Clinton�s visit to a kitchen Former US president Bill Clinton is in Jaipur to visit a kitchen and have a look at the mid day meal programme run by NGO Akshay Patra in Jaipur�s Jagatpura district.It is the largest kitchen in North India that feeds almost 1.5 lakh people,including 1.25 lakh school children studying in 1,100 govt schools in Jaipur district daily. These kitchens are provided with machines with a capacity to roll out 40,000 chapattis in an hour.The food is prepared without any human intervention. Meeting between Modi and Xi Jinping Prime Minister Narendra modi met Chinese President Xi Jinping and discussed a variety of issues ,the Boundary related issue being the topmost agenda and the most important one. Both sides emphasized on the need to find a solution to the boundary question. India asserts that the border dispute covered nearly 4057 km long Line Of Actual Control,while China claims that it confined to about 2000km to the area of Arunachal Pradesh,which it refers as Southern Tibet. During the meeting ,Modi also suggested the addition of one more route for the Kailash- Mansarovar Yatra in Tibet.
