H S Brahma H S Brahma[/caption] Former bureaucrat Harishankar Brahma has been appointed as the Chief Election Commissioner on Thursday. Former CEC was Veeravalli Sundaram Sampath. Brahma, who hails from Assam, will be the second CEC from the northeast after J M Lyngdoh. He will be overseeing the assembly polls in Delhi, which witnesses polling on February 7.
