KANDLA BECOMES FIRST GREEN SEZ

 

  • Kandla SEZ (KASEZ) was awarded IGBC Platinum Rating today. KASEZ is the First Green SEZ to achieve the IGBC Green Cities Platinum Rating for Existing Cities.

 

  • The efforts of KASEZ team were applauded especially noting the fact that this was accomplished in Bhuj region where water conservation and afforestation are critical interventions.

 

 

  • This was major achievement and is part of activities envisaged under the commitment of the Government to the Green SEZs Mission as part of celebrations marking India@75 – Azadi ka Amrut Mahotsav.

 

  • IGBC Platinum rating has been awarded for ‘Green master planning, policy initiatives and implementation of green infrastructure’ by CII’s Indian Green Building Council (IGBC).

 

 

  • The recognition is set to pave way for all the other SEZs in the country to emulate the green initiative and efforts of Kandla SEZ.

INS TABAR PARTICIPATES IN NAVY DAY CELEBRATIONS OF THE RUSSIAN NAVY

 

  • INS Tabar reached St Petersburg, Russia on 22 Jul 21 to participate in the 325th Navy Day celebrations of the Russian Navy.

 

  • Vice Admiral Sergei Yeliseyev, Deputy Commander of Russian Navy’s Baltic Fleet visited Tabar on 23 Jul 21. He was received onboard with a Guard of Honor. The Commanding Officer presented the Admiral with the ship’s crest on conclusion of the visit.

 

 

  • On 24 Jul, The Commanding Officer, Captain Mahesh Mangipudi, paid homage at the historic Piskaryovskoye Memorial Cemetery in St Petersburg.

 

  • On 25 Jul, the 325th Navy Day of the Russian Navy, the ship joined the column of ships in Naval Parade reviewed by Mr Vladimir Putin, the President of Russian Federation.

 

  • Over 50 ships, motor boats, submarines, 48 airplanes and helicopters of the naval aviation took part in the parade.

 

  • Post Navy Day celebrations, Tabar will participate in Exercise INDRA scheduled to be held on 28 and 29 Jul 21 in the Baltic sea with two Russian Navy ships.

KARGIL VIJAY DIWAS CELEBRATED ON JULY 26TH

 

  • Kargil Vijay Diwas is celebrated every year on July 26 since the year 1999, to mark India’s victory over Pakistan in the Kargil conflict.

 

  • This year nation is celebrating the 22 years of victory in the Kargil war. It was in 1999 that a high altitude mountain war broke out along the peaks of Kargil near the Line of Control, the de-facto border that divides Kashmir between the two nations.

 

  • History of Kargil War: The Kargil War was fought between May-July of 1999 in the Kargil district of Jammu and Kashmir along the Line of Control (LoC) in which India got the victory.

 

  • The Kargil war was fought for more than 60 days, ended on 26 July. On this date in 1999 Pakistan army taking advantage of the melting snow and betraying the bilateral understanding of both the nations (that the post would remain unattended during the winter season) took command of the high outposts of India.

 

  • Pakistan army refused the claims that its soldiers were involved in the war and claimed that they were the rebels from Kashmir itself, but the ammunition, identity cards, rations stores and other evidence prove that the Pakistan army was behind this cowardly act.

 

  • Operation Vijay: The operation was launched by the Indian Army twice in Indian history. The first Operation Vijay was launched in 1961 that led to the capture of Goa, Anjediva islands and Daman and Diu.

 

  • The second operation was launched in 1999. Both the operations were of huge success. However, the Kargil Vijay However, the Kargil Vijay Diwas is marked on the culmination of Kargil war.

 

  • July 26 is celebrated as “Kargil Vijay Diwas” every year to mark the successful completion of “Operation Vijay” that ended the 3-month war along the Line of Control. Nearly 490 Indian army officers, soldiers and jawans were martyrs during the course of the battle.

 

  • Operation White Sea: The operation White Sea was also launched during the Kargil war, 1999. During the operation, the Indian Air Force jointly acted with Indian Army to flush out regular and irregular troops of the Pakistani army.

28th REGIONAL WORKSHOP OF KRISHI VIGYAN KENDRAS OF MADHYA PRADESH-CHHATTISGARH

 

 

  • Union Minister for Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Shri Narendra Singh Tomar virtually inaugurated the 28th Regional Workshop of Krishi Vigyan Kendras (KVKs) located in Madhya Pradesh.

 

  • At present 723 KVKs are being run by ICAR units, NGOs and State Agricultural Universities. Out of which 7 are in Naxal-affected areas.

 

 

  • Mainly pulses, wheat and soybean from Madhya Pradesh and paddy from Chhattisgarh have a significant contribution to the total production of the country.

 

  • A new project- ‘Arya’, being operated in Attari, Jabalpur in 12 KVKs of Madhya Pradesh-Chhattisgarh, is attracting youth towards farming.

 

 

  • ‘Mera Gaon-Mera Gaurav’ program is being run by 5 universities and 5 other institutes of Madhya Pradesh-Chhattisgarh.

 

  • KVKs play an important role in discharging the responsibility of women empowerment by promoting nutrition-sensitive agriculture through the ‘Nari’ program.

 

 

  • On this occasion, Union Minister Shri Tomar released various publications and laid the foundation stone of Soyabean Seed Hub Store at KVK, Govind Nagar, Hoshangabad.

SAMAGRA SHIKSHA SCHEME

 

  • The Union Budget of 2018-19 has announced that school education would be treated holistically and without segmentation from pre-primary to class XII.
  • The Department of Education has launched the Integrated Scheme for School Education, Samagra Shiksha in 2018.

 

  • It was launched by subsuming the erstwhile Centrally Sponsored Schemes of Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan (SSA), Rashtriya Madhyamik Shiksha Abhiyan (RMSA) and Teacher Education (TE).

 

 

  • It is an integrated scheme for school education covering the entire gamut from pre-school to class XII.

 

  • Implementing the recommendations of the National Education Policy 2020 (NEP 2020).

 

 

  • Implementation of Right of Children to Free and Compulsory Education (RTE) Act, 2009.

 

  • NIPUN Bharat aims to ensure that every child achieves the desired learning competencies in reading, writing and numeracy at the end of grade III and not later than grade V has been launched under the scheme.
